data from ATUS to use with STATA.

I have extracted some data from ATUS to use with STATA.

When I save the file, it saves as “.dta.gz” and STATA is unable to open it. Does anyone know how to prevent the “.gz” or how to get STATA to open the file?

The .gz file is a compressed file, so you’ll need to unzip it before STATA can load it. We have online tutorial videos for more detailed instructions on how load IPUMS data into STATA.
