I’m working with a university and a non-profit on distributions of language in several countries. We would like to use IPUMS data to support this through mapping ethnicities. The final product will be data sets of languages and their geographic distributions. Would the terms of use for IPUMS data allow the hosting and distribution of the produced data/maps on the non-profit’s website? All use would be non-commercial.

Since the data will be (a) aggregated and will not identify individual observations and (b) you are not using the data for commercial purposes, you are allowed to use the data in this way. We do kindly ask that you properly cite IPUMS International in any reports that include these data.
