Just to be extra clear, the ATUS-X is the ATUS microdata with individual observations, it’s just easier to use than the BLS published data, correct?
That is correct! We use the BLS published data as our starting point. We harmonize variables so the codes are comparable across time and make the data available through an interactive interface that allows users to easily pool multiple years of data, view variable-specific documentation over time in a single location, and include only the variables of interest in their data file.
