ASEC Extract Decompression Issue

I’ve read through other people’s issues with decompression / unzipping, but I think mine may be novel! I have a Windows computer and it’s telling me my .dat.gz (for Stata) file can’t be extracted because “The file name you specified is not valid or too long. Specify a different file name.” Any ideas?

It seems that using 7Zip has solved my problems. Thanks for the others who have suggested this!
