1860 enslaved population data v2 missing?

Hi,

I’m trying to download the new April 2026 version of the Enslaved Population Data for 1860 (from " https://usa.ipums.org/usa/slave/slave_data.shtml "). But when I click on the links for the data files (both “1860 Stata” and “1860 SPSS”). I get a “The page you were looking for doesn’t exist” error.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with the dataset?

I’d be very grateful for any help.

Thanks for letting us know about this issue. IPUMS USA prepared a new version of the 1860 Enslaved Population Data in June 2026, but it is not currently accessible on the website. I’ve alerted my colleagues who will address the issue. In the meantime, please email the user support team at ipums@umn.edu and we will share the file with you directly.
