For the South Sudan mortality available here ([https://international.ipums.org/inter...](https://international.ipums.org/international/mort_fert_mig.shtml)), is it correct to assume these are the values for the PREGD variable? 1 = Death by pregnancy 2 = Death within 2 months of delivery I could not find a codebook for this data. Thank you!

According to the census form 1 = yes, 2=no.

Yes means the death occurred during pregnancy, delivery, or the first 2 months after delivery.

I have not tested this against the microdata.
