# Time plan for Census 1950?

HI IPUMS staff  
I am working on a project about immigrants’ and descendants’ settlement structures in the period 1850-1950. From a web-seminar last year I - as far as I remember - full count census 1950 maybe could be ready sometime in 2023. I have two questions: 1) Do you have any time plan for uploading the full count 1950 census, and 2) what about linking between 1940 and 1950 census?

We do not have a definitive timeline for releasing the 1950 full count files. IPUMS is partnering with Ancestry to make the 1950 data available for research applications; we will share updates via email and [IPUMS USA](http://usa.ipums.org/) as we learn more about the timeline to release IPUMS 1950 data.

We are applying for funding to link across 1940 and 1950 censuses, as part of a continuation of the [IPUMS Multigenerational Longitudinal Panel (IPUMS MLP)](https://usa.ipums.org/usa/mlp/mlp.shtml) project.
