# I'm using both supplement (sample adult) and person core questionnaire. Which weight should I use in the analysis?

I’m using both supplement (sample adult) and person core questionnaire. Which weight should I use in the analysis?

For any analysis that uses the person sample adult or child questionnaire, the [SAMPWEIGHT](https://nhis.ipums.org/nhis-action/variables/SAMPWEIGHT#description_section)weight is generally recommended. This is because the sample adult and child questionnaires are subsets of the core questionnaire, so any analysis using both questionnaires will be restricted to the sub-sample of observations included in the smaller subset.
