All ASEC respondents age 15 or older who worked in the previous year reported how many weeks they worked in that year ([WKSWORK1](https://cps.ipums.org/cps-action/variables/WKSWORK1#universe_section)). Prior to 1990, members of the armed forces were also excluded from this variable. The IPUMS variable WKSWORK1 corresponds directly to the [original CPS](https://cps.ipums.org/cps/resources/codebooks/cpsmar14.pdf) variable WKSWORK. The respondent’s month in sample ([MISH](https://cps.ipums.org/cps-action/variables/MISH#description_section)) did not affect whether or not the WKSWORK information was collected.

Hope this helps.
