# Can I attach characteristics of other persons in the household when analyzing data online?

I don’t have a statistical package so I am using online analysis. I see that when extracting data it is possible to attach characteristics of other persons in the household, for example employment status of spouse. Can I do this with online analysis?

Unfortunately, this is not possible with the current version of the IPUMS [online analysis system](https://cps.ipums.org/cps/sda.shtml). In order to [attach characteristics](https://cps.ipums.org/cps-action/faq#ques34), you would need to [create a data extract](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y46_H4nf7Ug&feature=youtu.be).
