# Any update on when stepmom and steppop will be available in 2016 ACS?

Any update on when stepmom and steppop will be available in 2016 ACS?

There is not much of an update about the availability of the STEPMOM and STEPPOP variables. We are still working on sorting out some suspicious values. Actually, these variables are not supposed to be available in the 2016 5-year file. These variables will be hidden soon. Keep an eye on the [revisions page](https://usa.ipums.org/usa-action/revisions) for future updates regarding the availability of these variables.
